having carved a name in fashion by serving at both christian dior and yves saint laurent, hedi slimane can now add "photographer" to his already impressive resume. with the permission of saint laurent's partner, pierre berge, slimane was able to capture the conciseness of berge at his most vulnerable during the latter part of 2008; it also gave us a glimpse into the reclusive designer's dwelling. the choice of black and white film as well the usage of natural light and intimate subject matter makes for a more articulate soundtrack of saint laurent. could there be a coffee table book in the works? only time will tell.
