LiKailin Contemporary Fine Art presents “Moving” ~ 18 Contemporary Artists

Cheshire, UK - LiKailin Contemporary Fine Art is delighted to announce the opening of “Moving”, an exhibition of 18 Chinese contemporary painters, sculptors and photographers. Over the last year the world has witnessed an emergence of exceptional contemporary art from China and the rest of Asia, which has been stunning audiences with its skill and voice. “Moving” is a fabulous exhibition of 18 Chinese contemporary artists, comprising painters, sculptors and photographic artists. The title “Moving”, at its most apparent level, refers to the way the artwork moves us emotionally. However, the exhibition is also intended to provide a visual description of, and commentary on, the inexorable moving forward of China as a nation state - and to provoke a reaction that moves or shifts the viewers’ attitudes to China and Chinese culture.

Catherine Raines founded LiKailin so that she could focus on bringing works of Chinese contemporary fine art to collectors in the West - providing a platform for Chinese artists outside of their homeland, often for the first time. She curated the first ever solo exhibition outside China for the famous photographic artist, Tian Taiquan, in 2008 in Birmingham and will stage a major exhibition for Yang Yongliang in the autumn of 2009 in London. Her regular return vists to Asia, together with her close association with headline galleries across the Asia-Pacific, ensure her finger stays right on the pulse of what's new and exciting in this dynamic field.

Catherine has now expanded LiKailin to offer works from other parts of Asia and indeed worldwide, confounding the critics who said that a successful UK-based international art business had to be located and run from the country’s capital city, London. Having traded successfully through a strong web presence at and through exhibitions and art fairs, Catherine opened the doors to LiKailin's first gallery, based in the North West of England, in May 2009. Now arguably THE destination gallery not only for collectors based in the region but also for Londoners and other Europeans, LiKailin promises a visual treat of stunning, challenging and simply beautiful paintings, sculptures and photographic art.

LiKailin is dedicated to showcasing both emerging and established Asian contemporary fine artists, some of whom already have works in such important collections as The British Museum. Since our move to the UK from China in 2008, we have successfully placed artworks into public, private and corporate collections and wowed audiences with the first ever solo exhibition outside China for the acclaimed photographic artist Tian Taiquan. LiKailin has been selected to curate an exhibition of Yang Yongliang’s works to coincide with Asian Art in London week - and this June we will be showing a selection of artists at ArtAsia Basel 09 (8 to 14 June).

I don't what the Asian comment was, but this is kind of disturbing. I guess that's art!
